Thank you to all, who came to the open house for the Indy Resource Center on May 1st, 2023. Over 50+ adults and children attended the opening. There was a resounding sentence that visitors shared, “Our community really needs this resource center!”. An idea that was presented to HSH, in August of 2022 at the Board Meeting by our Vice President Hannah Risner; her idea has come to fruition. Hannah was given approval by the Board and COO Chris Mitchell to go ahead with the project and she was given the title of Indy Resource Center Coordinator. Nine months later the doors were opened to the Freedom House Apartment and the Indy Resource Center. Truly a community project; not just from resident’s of Independence Kansas, but outside areas as well, some, 100’s of miles away. It’s humbling to see how good people can come together to do good.

The Independence Reporter took the time to come check out the Indy Resource Center during our open house on Monday, which had a fantastic turn out! Thank you to all who came!! On a side note, we wanted to clarify that the Indy Resource Center is not a ministry of Hannah’s House, it is with Home Sweet Home.
